Supporting GSAs

Waukesha North GSA

GSAFE supports over 200 Gay-Straight Alliances and similarly-focused student groups in Wisconsin. We support the development of emerging GSAs at both the high school and middle school levels and support GSAs when they encounter discrimination and/or resistance from their school community.

GSA members engage in youth leadership development activities through participation in our fall and spring GSA conferences as well as through the use of curriculum we send to Wisconsin GSAs.

In addition to supporting youth, we also support GSA advisors and other school staff and administrators.

Testimonials

“Words Hurt Week helped me discover the importance of intersectionality within all social movements – recognizing that we cannot make progress within the queer community without also examining the systems that impact other oppressions.”  Maria, Former GSAFE Youth Activist
