GSAFE’s 9th Annual Walk/Run/Eat for Safe Schools will be on Sunday, October 11th at the Goodman Community Center in Madison.  This is a volunteer-driven event, so we are always in need of volunteers to help out the morning of the event to help it run as smoothly as possible.  Read below or download to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

Event set-up!  In the morning we need a team of folks helping to set up the Goodman center before the event opens, and setting up tables and chairs for the lunch.Beth and son at WRE 2011

Be a course marshal! Course marshals are assigned a spot along the 5K or 10K route, and their job is to make sure the runners and walkers are going the right direction and to help alert them to oncoming traffic.

Join the timing team! Volunteers on the timing team will assist the professional timing company in tracking the race times of runners as they finish.

Be a hero! GSAFE’s Walk/Run/Eat for Safe Schools is a superhero-themed fun run, and we are always looking for extra heroes to be on hand to take their photos with the participants and help cheer on the walkers and runners.

Be a superhero! Superheroes are the folks who commit to trying to raise $500 for GSAFE.  It’s easier than you think it is.  Let us know if you’re up for the challenge! Click here to learn more about being a Superhero for GSAFE.
